Classes are based on the "Water in Your River" educational package developed by WATCH Trust For Environmental Education from the United Kingdom. This package is very popular in English schools and is widely used for the analysis of surface water quality.

The Polish version of the package allows you to:

- determination of the physical properties of the river, determination of the chemical composition of water in the river, determination of the species composition of fauna and flora in the river;
These tests are used to assess the state of water pollution in a river or stream. The quality of watercourses with varying degrees of pollution can be compared in the Ojców PN. During the classes, all measurements are independently planned and performed by students. This develops the ability to use measuring instruments, marking plant and animal species, and manual skills.
Course subject:

Geography: Physical properties of a river: differentiation between basic terrain forms and ground types; using instruments (thermometer, tape measure); the importance of water for the natural environment and for man.
Biology: Observation of the impact of environmental pollution on plants and aquatic animals; designation of species of aquatic flora and fauna; the use of optical instruments and laboratory equipment; rational use of water resources.
Chemistry: Chemical composition of watercourses, solutions and suspensions; determination of the concentration and pH of solutions.
Time of classes: Half- or full-day classes, minimum 4 hours.

Age of participants: junior high school students. It is possible to adapt the program to a selected age group.

Comments: Rubber footwear is necessary for some participants.

It is a journey along the most beautiful hiking trail of the Ojcowski National Park - the cognitive path "Dark Cave - Mount Trenches".

Course participants can, among other things, see:
- Jaskinia Ciemna, one of the most extensive caves in the Krakow-Częstochowa Upland;
- One of the oldest archaeological sites in Poland!
- Mysterious remains of an early medieval settlement;
- Unique turf and rock thickets with numerous Mediterranean and steppe species;
- The most beautiful panoramas of the Prądnik Valley and the vicinity of Kraków;

Classes are an opportunity to supplement knowledge about natural and historical issues with student's personal experiences. The stimulation of his sensual and emotional experiences is essential for a better understanding of the material presented during school classes, making it abstract and giving meaning to particular phenomena.

Course subject:

Geography: Landscape of calcareous highlands around Ojców; karst phenomena (caves, rocks, wywierzyska); distinction of basic forms of natural landscape and transformed by man.

Biology: Structure and functioning of the ecosystem; forest layers; diversification of vegetation and fauna; variability of habitat conditions; life of plants in extreme conditions; the impact of civilization on nature; dependence of man on the natural environment.

History: Discoveries in a cave; living conditions of people from the period of the older Stone Age; the oldest apartments; getting food, clothing and tools; defensive strongholds; archeology as a method of learning about the earliest periods of history.

Time: Half or full day trip, minimum 4 hours.

Age of participants: primary school students. It is possible to adapt the program to a selected age group.

Notes: The route is mountainous. Necessary appropriate footwear!

Sightseeing: Dark Cave

The group is run by a lecturer of environmental classes in Polish.

The aim of this lesson is to introduce participants to the complexity of the phenomenon of human management in the landscape.
 
The complexity of the problem causes that these classes are also an excellent school for group work and team-solving problems.

Price: PLN 48 / person

The purpose of this lesson is to make students aware of the diversity of species and to teach them to recognize some trees.
 
Using worksheets they note their basic features. Sheets draw children's attention to the silhouette of the tree, the shape and color of the leaves, bark, flowers, fruits and other easy to observe features of the tree species and the basic properties of the habitat.

This is a topic intended for both children and adolescents.
 
The main attraction of the lesson is conducting classes in the form of a patrolling run. It teaches the basics of orientation in the field, using a compass and determining the azimuth, and introduces a favorite element of sports competition.
