XI Days of the Old Polish Culture

We invite you to the Pieskowa Skała Castle - the first weekend of June (2-3.06.2018) will host an event from the series of Days of Polish Culture.

The castle, where the daily and festive life of its owners and households took place over the centuries, is a perfect backdrop to recalling, reconstructing and imagining past history. The authentic fact of the visit in Pieskowa Skala of the Polish prince, Prince Karol Wettyna in the mid-18th century, is an opportunity to tell about the time when the castle was owned by the Wielopolski family. The poignant prince Count Hieronim Wielopolski was famous for his passion for hunting, while his wife Urszula from Potocki loved the theater with love. The interests of both spouses, typical of the then aristocracy, are colorful themes that in many ways will be presented to the participants of the event.

On Saturday and Sunday - from 10.30-18.00 - with a bit of imagination you will be able to move in time and see the prince Karol Wetyna, count Wielopolska, their friends and service.
Viewers will be "admitted" into the wardrobe of the lady of the house to see how complicated and requiring sacrifice was a rococo toilet.
Unusually, the conversations at the table will not take place in French, so you will be able to overhear sophisticated company, and ask the servants what was served for breakfast or afternoon tea. Surely you will not blame them if "ordinary mortals" will want to admire the spectacle with them in the castle courtyard.

In addition to genre scenes and theatrical and dance shows, the program provides lectures on the history and practice of hunting, fun for the visitors of the museum "Hunting in the Museum". It will be based on tracing wild animals hidden in exhibits.

An artistic pleasure will be an additional pleasure for the audience, as part of which you will be able to make a souvenir of your participation in the event yourself.

All these attractions will take place in the inner courtyard and adjacent rooms, so you will have to buy a museum entrance ticket to take part in them.
